I have recently created an exclusive space for children and young adults between the ages of 8 and 20 to share their writings. As an author and writing coach for children, I have felt that there aren't enough opportunities for our children to showcase their literary talents. They have no motivation, no incentive to put pen on paper except for exams and homework. There is a lot inside them that we haven’t known, because we haven’t given them the chance to explore. We haven't inspired them enough.I want to change that. I want to make our children go on a journey and start discovering life and this world through their experiences, and record it in writing. I want to give their imagination wings and give them a platform to land their ideas. It is with this objective that I have started ‘Glow-Worms’.
Every month, I will choose a selection of writings from the submissions I get by mail and post the best ones on the blog.
With Glow-Worms, I want to give our children the power and confidence to express themselves freely. Having a place where their writing is seen and read is a huge encouragement for children to write. When you share the blog among your friends and relations, what grows is the children’s confidence. It gives them a valid reason to write. A sense of accomplishment and pride in their capabilities. Who can submit?
Children and teens between 8 and 20 years from any part of the world.
What can they submit?
Any genre of literature – essays, poems, stories, articles, notes, travelogues, anything that they want to put down in words.
How do they submit it?
They will have to send the articles by mail to writeforgw@gmail.com.
How are the blogs selected?
They will be selected based on the content and style of writing. So parents, inspire your child to write as best as they can, and YA, bring your best stuff out.
How often will the blog be updated?
The blog will be updated on the 1st of every month. The first edition will go live on August 1, 2020.
What other details should be attached with the writing?
The writer’s name, age, grade, school/college, country of residence, and other interests and hobbies.
Should we Subscribe to the blog?
Subscribing to the blog will make sure that you get the updated blog in your mail box every month without you having to remember or search for it.
